Jose "Joedy" Salinas (1961 — 2021)

Jose “Joedy” Salinas, 59, of Grove City, Ohio, formerly of Holgate, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital, Grove City, Ohio.

He was born Dec. 20, 1961, in Napoleon, to Timoteo and Maria (Lerma) Salinas. Joedy attended Holgate High School and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holgate. He was his own person; He lived his life doing his own thing. He enjoyed camping, grilling and playing handball, but most important to him was being with his family and friends.

He is survived by three children, Timoteo (Leah) Salinas, Alysha (Aaron) Pedraza and Brandy (Terry) Yelvington: 10 grandchildren, Kaylea, Shayla, Elias, Alanna, Kelis, Moses, Chanler, Alexia, Haddie and Jaxson; one great-grandchild, Tuff; his father, Timoteo Salinas; and one sister, Carlota (Jodi) Whittaker.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at Snyder-Hoening Funeral Home, 209 N. Wilhelm St., Holgate. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 316 Chicago Ave., Holgate, with the Rev. Nicholas Cunningham, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Holgate.
