The Bryan Times,
I recently read the book, ‘All the Gallant Men: An American Sailor’s Firsthand Account of Pearl Harbor,’ by Ken Gire (and Donald Stratton). It is the true story of Donald Stratton, a U.S. Navy survivor aboard the U.S.S. Arizona during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.
Once President Roosevelt declared war, our country united to defeat Japan, Hitler’s socialism and our enemies. Men and women of every age and occupation, and their children, did everything they could to help America and our allies win the war.
People went without basic staples, bicycles were ridden without tires, and scrap metal was salvaged. No sacrifice was too great.
Our flag and our country were loved dearly and respected.
There is great shame on my part that we have treated President Trump with such disrespect, dishonor and contempt, since being elected. How much more could have been accomplished these past few years, if we had exhibited the attitude of those from WWII.
Those who promote Hitler’s socialism are the ones who should be removed from office.
Part of Luke 11:17 says, “ ... Every Kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.”
