Bryan senior Audrey Zimmerman continued the fast start to her season on Saturday by running a personal best time of 19:30 to re-set her cross country school record at the Columbus Grove Invitational.
In the process, she placed eighth in the girls large school division and helped the Bears to an 11th-place finish out of 17 teams.
Zimmerman was followed by teammates Addie Oberlin (21:06) in 27th, Lily Dixon (22:53) in 68th, Adrienne Struble (23:36) in 82nd, Makenna Lane (24:24.49) in 95th, Alyssia Foust (27:55) in 135th, Kabryn Myers (27:55.95), Lydia Psurny (29:19) in 142nd and Isabelle Martin (35:33) in 157th.
Fairview’s girls were also in the large school division and placed 10th as a team. The Apaches were paced by Samantha Rohrs (20:26) in 19th, Leah Layman (21:07) in 28th, Taylor King (21:46) in 45th, Karrie Smith (23:05) in 73rd, Wendy Arend (25:46) in 113th, Sesily Wanjema (27:42) in 134th and Brook Mavis (28:09) in 138th.
In the small school division, Edgerton’s girls were seventh out of 12 teams. The Bulldogs were paced by Natalie Kellogg (22:17) in 25th, Kenzie Purk (22:36) in 31st, Ashlee Hug (23:05) in 42nd, McKenna Warner (23:54) in 62nd, Cheri Hulbert (24:06) in 65th, Elissa Bowen (24:11) in 66th and Holly Stark (24:27) in 69th.
North Central’s girls only had four runners so they didn’t have enough to score as a team but the Eagles were paced by Brandi Schofield (24:59) in 82nd, Brooke McClanahan (25:32) in 89th, Kila Reeser (25:47) in 93rd and Eryn Shaw (25:53) in 95th.
In the boys large school division, Fairview placed 10th out of 20 teams. The Apaches were led by Treyvon Hastings (16:29) in second, Ethan Underwood (18:00) in 42nd, Nick Breininger (18:20) in 55th, Kaleb Ankney (18:56) in 72nd, Reed Singer (19:49) in 101st, Alex Nichols (19:58) in 102nd and Garrett Bennett (20:00) in 103rd.
Also in the large school division, Bryan’s boys were 11th. The Bears were paced by Joshuah Taylor (16:35) in third, Ethan Cox (18:12) in 49th, Trevor Mason (18:51) in 69th, Caleb Zuver (19:03) in 76th, Blake Grube (19:17) in 84th, Noah Meyer (19:21) in 86th and Lucas Will (19:35) in 95th.
In the boys small school division, Edgerton’s boys were seventh out of 20 teams and were led by Josh Apt (17:28) in 21st, Hunter Burke (17:34) in 23rd, Connor Thiel (18:17) in 42nd, Elliot Roth (19:02) in 69th, Hayden Herman (19:19) in 78th, Nathan Swank (19:22) in 80th and Cole Meyer (20:27) in 102nd.
North Central had three boys compete in the small school division. Quin Burt (17:49) was 30th, Manny Cruz (20:57) was 110th and Clayton Douglas (24:50) was 143rd.
Stryker runs at Otsego
Stryker’s Emanuel Villanueva placed third in a time of 18:00 at the Otsego Invitational at Mary Jane Thurston Park on Saturday, trailing only Otsego’s Ashton Serrato (17:24) and Toledo Christian’s Mark Dembowski (17:29).
In the girls race, Trinitie Woolace was fourth in 21:46, Alexia Wickerham was 12th in 24:00 and Abby Grice was 59th in 30:57.
