Bryan’s summer baseball team fell to 2-8 on the season with a 7-5 loss against the Archbold Blue Streaks at Sumpter Field in Bryan on Monday.
The Golden Bears surrendered a 7-1 lead to the Streaks through the top of the fifth inning, but Bryan did manage to put together a rally during the bottom of the fifth. Quinn Brown scored on a single by Jase Kepler, Kepler later came home on a wild pitch, Taysen Deckrosh scored on a Nolan Kidston groundout and Clayton Rupp scored on a wild pitch to complete a four-run spurt which closed Archbold’s lead to 7-5.
Ethan Psurny reached on a walk during the sixth inning and Kidston was also walked during the seventh inning, but it proved to be Bryan’s only base runners for the remainder of the game, as Archbold held on for the 7-5 victory.
Bryan continues play when it hosts Maumee on Thursday.
