The Bryan boys golf team (161) breezed through a Northwest Ohio Athletic League tri-match against Patrick Henry (201) and Liberty Center (239) at White Pines Golf Course in Swanton on Tuesday.
The Golden Bears were led by Case Hartman, who earned medalist honors with an even-par 36. The rest of Bryan’s scoring was consistent, with Clayton Rupp (41), Nolan Kidston (42) and Drew Dauber (43) rounding out the win.
“If we can keep Case where he is at and get everyone else in the low forties, I like our chances in a lot of matches,” Bryan coach Tyler Bernath said. “We came out strong in a league match, and we need to keep that up the next week and a half.”
Trey Woods led Patrick Henry with the day’s second-best score, a three-over-par 39. The Patriots rounded out their scores with Nicholas Myers (52), Ethan Rohrs (55) and Aidan Breece (55).
Cole Zeiter (55). Sam Zeiter (56), Jake Spieth (61) and Jacob Croninger (67) finished for Liberty Center.
Antwerp 174, Edgerton 188, Fairview 193
The Antwerp boys golf team won a tri-match over Edgerton and Fairview at St. Mike’s Golf Course in Defiance on Tuesday. The Archers were led by medalist Jake Eaken, who carded a five-over-par 40. Austin Lichty (42) and Eric Thornell (44) followed close behind, while Gaige McMichael (48) rounded out the win.
Edgerton was paced by a 45 from Noah Landel and a 46 from Rocco Green. Esten Kennerk (48) and Zach Ivan (49) secured the second-place finish for the Bulldogs.
Fairview finished in third place behind 47s from J.T. Nusbaum and Jasi Laguna. Ronnie Adkins and Nathaniel Adkins rounded out the Apaches with a 48 and a 51, respectively.
The Montpelier boys golf team edged out a close victory over Wauseon at Suburban Golf Course in Bryan on Tuesday.
Hunter Burlew led the Locomotives with a medalist-honors-earning, even-par 36. Aidan Higbie (41) followed, with Ethan Marihugh (42) close behind. Roman Sommer rounded out Montpelier’s win by carding a 44.
Wauseon was led by Andy Scherer’s 39. Dylan Grahn and Nic Barone each added 43s. Luke Wheeler and Jaxon Radabaugh both shot 46, but only one of their scores was taken into account for the final total.
North Central 176
The Pettisville boys golf team followed a medalist’s 36 by Max Leppelmeier en route to a 10-stroke win over North Central in a Buckeye Border Conference dual match on Tuesday. Caleb Nafziger also shot low for the Blackbirds, carding a 39. Pettisville’s day was capped off by Tommy McWatters’ 41 and Josh Horning’s 50.
Chace Boothman and Zack Hayes shared low-round honors for North Central after each fired a 42. Mason Sanford and Jack Bailey added 46s.
