Bryan’s volleyball team earned a dramatic comeback victory against the visiting Archbold Blue Streaks in Northwest Ohio Athletic League play in Bryan on Tuesday.

After falling in a 2-0 hole, the Bears came back to win 22-25, 32-34, 25-22, 25-18, 18-16.

Bryan was led by 18 kills from Jess Robb, 21 digs from Kelly Miller, 13 kills and 10 digs from McKendry Semer, 13 kills from Abby Fernihough, four aces and 58 assists from Courtney Whetro and seven kills and nine digs from Amaiah Valderas.

Bryan improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the NWOAL with the win.

North Central 3, Stryker 2

North Central’s volleyball team won a five-set thriller against Stryker in Pioneer on Tuesday, 25-15, 25-14, 21-25, 21-25, 15-10.

The Eagles (3-0, 3-0 Buckeye Border Conference) were led by 22 kills and eight blocks from Kendal Bonney, 21 assists and 13 kills from Madison Brown, nine kills, 14 assists and nine digs from Lauren Balser and 11 digs from Kassidy Faler.

Stryker (1-5, 0-3) was led by 10 kills and three aces from Kenzie Cadwell, nine kills from Kalista Blevins, 15 assists from Kinsey Myers, nine assists from Haylee Fulk, 17 digs from Sage Woolace and 13 digs and three aces from Emilyanne Cox.

Montpelier 3, Fayette 2

Montpelier’s volleyball team beat Fayette 25-14, 25-19, 22-25, 17-25, 15-12 to move to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the BBC.

Leading the Locos were Keiylee Bentley with 11 kills and four aces, Ariel Page with seven kills and three blocks, Cadey Hillard with five kills, Chelsea McCord with five kills, two blocks, and five aces, and Jessi Bumb with 24 assists.

Hilltop 3, Pettisville 2

The Hilltop volleyball team beat Pettisville in a five-set thriller 20-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-22, 15-8 to hand the Blackbirds their first loss in Buckeye Border Conference play since they lost to Edon at the end of the 2012 season. In total, Pettisville had won 68 league games in a row.

Hilltop (4-0, 2-0 BBC) was led by 10 kills, three assists and three digs from Kendall Roth, 10 kills from Morgan Norden, eight kills from Gabby Rodriguez, 14 assists from Arleigh VanArsdalen and 11 assists from Kacy Connolly.

Pettisville was led by 25 assists from Mikayla Graber, seven kills and 19 digs from Danielle King, nine kills and 18 digs from Ryeana Klopfenstein, 26 digs from Anneli Shaw and 24 digs from Paris Coopshaw.
