Bryan defeats Tinora and Ottoville in tri-match
Bryan’s golf team earned a victory in a tri-match against Tinora and Ottoville at St. Mike’s Golf Course outside of Defiance on Tuesday.
Bryan finished with a score of 170 to beat Tinora’s 181 and Ottoville’s 205.
Bryan’s Nolan Kidston earned medalist honors with a round of 39. Bryan’s scoring was rounded out by Case Hartman (42), Drew Dauber (42), Clayton Rupp (47), Colin Shirkey (50) and Wyatt Taylor (69).
Tinora was led by Dylan VonDeylen (41), Devin Keber (44), Caden Trafzger (45), Joe Meila (51), Sammy Sinn (57) and Ethan Sattler (64).
Ottoville was led by Carter Schnipke (44), Dru Hilvers (47), Evan Turnwalt (51), Jack Langhals (63) and Chad Schnipke (78).
“We had good scores from Nolan and Drew today,” Bryan coach Tyler Bernath said. “Nolan had a double bogey seven on his 4th hole and didn’t have any more than a four on the rest of the holes. I like how he buckled down and put together a nice round after that. Drew and Clayton came in with respectable scores.
“Case didn’t have his best stuff today, but even that was enough to help us. It’s tough to have everyone play their best golf on the same day. That just isn’t how golf works. Fortunately, we have enough solid players that the others can pick each other up.”
