Edgerton senior running back Hunter Prince was named the 2019 Division VII Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association’s offensive player of the year, according to a release on Sunday.
Prince finished his senior year with 1,887 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns and helped lead the Edgerton Bulldogs to a 9-3 overall record and spot in a Division VII regional semifinal. For his career, Prince finished with a mind-boggling 6,222 yards rushing and 99 touchdowns on the ground.
A number of other local players also earned All-Ohio honors from the OPSWA on Sunday.
In Division VI, Fairview senior quarterback Cade Polter was named first team offense, while senior linebacker Chayse Singer was tabbed first team defense.
Fairview’s Austin Bostater was named third team offense on the offensive line, and Fairview’s Caleb Frank was named to the third team defense at defensive back.
In Division VII, Edgerton lineman Tyler Eustace was named third team offense, while Edon’s Austin Kiess was named second team defense at linebacker.
