Bryan baseball wins shootout with Tinora

Bryan’s high school summer baseball team moved to 1-1 on the season with an 18-17 shootout victory on the road against Tinora on Friday.

The Golden Bears racked up 19 hits on the evening. Breven Deckrosh led the way with a home run, a double and two singles. Keith Huard had three doubles and a single. Mikey Wolff had a triple and two singles. Ethan Psurny had three singles. Clayton Rupp had two singles.

Bryan 12U softball earns

two victories on weekend

The Bryan 12U softball team picked up a pair of victories over the weekend. The Bears opened up their 2020 season with a 5-1 victory against Hicksville on Friday. Mylie Vollmer had two singles and three runs batted in. Miley Mason had two singles, two RBIs and Thea Staten had one single. Amiyah Langahm pitched three innings and gave up one run with five walks and five strikeouts. Staten pitched three innings and gave up zero runs with five walks and six strikeouts.

The Bears then beat Fairview 10-3 on Saturday. Langham had a double, a single and two RBIs. Josey Arnold had a double and Staten had two singles. Mason had two singles and two RBIs. Vollmer had two RBIs. Staten pitched four innings and gave up three runs with eight strikeouts and eight walks. Langham pitched two innings with zero runs and two strikeouts.

Bryan 14U softball beats Defiance on Thursday

Bryan’s 14U softball team earned an 11-6 victory over Defiance on Thursday. Marlee Yoder was 1-for-2 with one double, McKenzie Mason was 1-for-2 with a single, Kailee Thiel was 1-for-2 with a single and Bella Bannister was 2-for-2 with two singles. Bella Bannister and Ella Voigt combined to pitch a four-hitter on the mound.

Bryan softball splits doubleheader vs. Antwerp

Bryan’s high school summer softball team split a doubleheader against Antwerp on Thursday. The Bears lost the first game 7-6. Brooke Taylor was 2-for-2 with a single and a triple. Madison Grisier was 2-for-2 with two singles. Alli Alspaugh was 2-for-2 with two singles, and Addy Spencer was 2-for-2 with two singles. Kierstyn Bherns served as the team’s pitcher and she had three strikeouts.

Bryan then won the second game 8-2. Addie Arnold was 2-for-3 at the plate with two singles, and she also pitched a solid game on the mound with seven strikeouts. Bre Long was 2-for-3 with a home run and a single. Alex Vreeland was 2-for-3 with two singles. Kenzie Adams was 1-for-1 with one single.
